HOARDINGS

 Section 116 of the Municipal Corporation Act, 1994 provides that it is mandatory for every individual to seek permission for putting hoardings in the Municipal Corporation limits. The applicant is required to submit site plan and  size of the hoarding along with the application and period for which he wants to put the hoardings.

The terms and conditions for placing and hoarding the municipal limits are as under:

1. The board size should not be more than 172 sq feet.
2. It should not be placed towards valley side
3. It is not permitted on municipal drains.
4. The requisite fee is required to be paid in advance for a period of one year.

The rates of the FEE

1. On Municipal Lands falling in the areas of Rs 10/ per sq feet

Main Shimla town, Lower Bazaar, Cart Road,

Anaz Mandi, Subazi Mandi, Lakkar Bazaar,

Rivoli Road and the areas falling in core Zone

2. On private lands of the residents of the town Rs 2/ per sq feet ( through out the municipal limits)

Recently, the various hoardings sites have been auctioned for a period of One year to
